Vehicles fitted with specific Takata airbags have been recalled globally, due to a risk of the airbag rupturing in the event of a deployment. This recall affects millions of vehicles from various manufacturers, with around 1.3 million vehicles affected in Australia.
Although the fault may only be present in a small number of vehicles, it carries a risk of serious injury or fatility.
